Transforming Research into Impact

Explore the GRASP Case Bank

The Case Bank is a core pillar of the GRASP Network: a carefully curated collection of case studies on major projects from around the world. It is the GRASP Network’s shared databes of major project experience and expertise, as a searchable, comparable and evolving repository of both theoretical and practical knowledge.

  1. Searchable: Filter and find cases by country, region, sector, governance models, project types, key themes and more.
  2. Comparable: Case studies use a common template to allow for cross-case learning, research, analysis and synthesis.
  3. Evolving: Cases are regularly maintained and updated by case owners as projects move from planning to implementation to operation.

GRASP Case Studies are much more than a project summary. They are structured accounts of how a major project was imagined, decided, financed, contested and implemented. Each case study aims to:

  • Reconstruct the conception, governance, financing and implementation of major projects.
  • Trace actors, interests, conflicts and alliances across the project lifecycle.
  • Document controversies, delays, cost overruns, redesigns and learning processes.
  • Review existing governance practices (what’s working, what isn’t and why).
  • Identify new approaches in specific institutional and political contexts.
